Music and words together

On very rare occasions, the original source for a song sample will come up in my random playlist, providing a moment of cognitive dissonance. Hard Nights, Soft Days

A flower in her hair

Like someone stuck it there

A reminder of what never was

A hopeful dream of just because

The music on the radio

Is ringing in my ears

There’s nothing really to it

The sum of all my fears

Playing out the same old game

No one ever knows my name

But I’ll still be here just the same

Another day

Another night

Another star that burned too bright

Open your eyes

Close up your heart

These are the days

When we walk apart.
