A lot of the online reviews I’ve seen have made a comparison to ladies like Adele and Amy Winehouse. The comparison seems apt. The vocalist has a strong voice that imparts lush emotional response to the songs. The music behind her is nice and down tempo jazz, with a strong groovin feel.

Cafepress reborn
Monday, January 18th, 2010Reading up on all the recent foot-in-mouth-ism that Rush has, I wondered why I hadn’t seen any new sales at cafepress since february. Looking over the site, I noticed that 3 of my images, images that were printed onto shirts just fine for the last 10 years, are suddenly marked in red, with no explanation. I reuploaded them, and since cafepress has so many more products now, went thru all the stores, filling in the missing products. Still need to make a dark-shirt compatible set of images, now that they offer printing on those colors too.
Jesus died for my sins and all I got was this lousy t-shirt!

10 bytes of flute
Thursday, January 7th, 2010I’m working with a friend on a couple of tracks for a song he’s written. On one take, I got a half-decent flute-line down, but I want to make another attempt, so I mixed down a track to practice with that doesn’t contain my flute. It ended up all of 10 bytes smaller than the track with me in it.
Weird how much compression works.
Clearly Incompentent Marketing
Tuesday, January 5th, 2010CLEAR (presumably the former clearwire), is running a direct mail campaign with envelopes that state on the outside “This is not junk mail”. I’m not clear I understand the message they intend to send with this mailing. Is it that Clear is run by people who would lie to you? How exactly is that a selling point? I’m not saying it’s a surprise, I’m just surprised at how much money they’re spending on telling people that they are willing to be dishonest to get your business, with all that implies as to how they would treat you after you are a customer.
“Trust me, I’m a liar”, just isn’t the killer opening line you think it is.
No More Warcraft
Tuesday, January 5th, 2010Oh Blizzard.
It’s not enough to make millions off the masses of weed smoking college students wasting away their education, no you have to help track down low level pot dealers who’ve fled to Canada. I’m willing to let you do most anything you want with my $45/month, but not that.
I’ve got plenty of books to catch up on reading anyways.
Dreamhost Rocks
Monday, January 4th, 2010They pointed out I could save $9.00 a month by switching to a plan that was the same as my current plan, except for something I’d never used in the entire decade I’ve been with them, and likely never will. Call me a happy camper; well, webhosting-wise =p
New Music in the New Year
Sunday, January 3rd, 2010Spent the afternoon working on a couple of tracks with Brad. My parts still need some work, no surprise considering it’s the first time I’ve heard the vocals to go with the guitar, but all in all a good session of laying down the bits.
