Pasta is hard to build with. Half the time I’d break a strut just getting it in the gummi. The other half the time, one would just snap under it’s own weight while I was working on another part of the tower. In the end, we weren’t ready in time for the judging, and lost by default, even if we were higher than anyone else.

Thursday, February 4th, 2010Crab, Tuna, Chicken, Trout and more, a canned meat plethora.
We went and volunteered down at Northwest Harvest, a sort of food bank for food banks. Hopefully they can find someone to take my deep freeze off my hands.
I’d Rather Be Bored

Than spend time with you,”
he says, in so many words.
Not much I can say next.
Strange Hands
Monday, February 1st, 2010There’s a church on queen anne, across the street from the “yummy togo” teriyaki place. At first glance, I thought the fence was just a random leaf pattern, but on closer inspection, the leaves are pierced with a collection of hands, some of which I’m not clear on the symbolism of.
iTunes Out of Memory Error
Monday, February 1st, 2010During the run-up to the billionth app downloaded, I was grabbing anything that sounded even remotely interesting, and was free. Since then, the updates number has kept growing, so I finally went to try and download them all, no joy. At first I thought it was the number of apps involved, but it ended up having more to do with the name of one of the apps.
iTunes Out of Memory Error
Friday, January 29th, 2010I wonder if it would be any happier if this was happening on a Mac.
A Henry in Wallingford
Friday, January 29th, 2010I’m on a mission to capture all of these that I can find.
Ideally, I’d like to use the scooter to find them all, but the range just isn’t there for serious exploration. So far, I know of 2 others….
Blarg
Saturday, January 23rd, 2010The latest replacement Kindle DX died tonight.
Was reading along just fine, went to turn the page, and no response. Tried all the standard reset options, no response.
Sigh.
UPDATE: I didn’t want to spend my saturday night on the phone with tech support, so I spent the night reading from the original pdf, on my mac. This morning, I start the call-me-back process for kindle support, and grab the kindle to have ready to talk about, and notice that it’s got the screensaver on. That’s different that the blank and unresponsive I saw last night, so I hang up before support answers, and start to see what’s what.
The device lost where I last was reading, of course, and flaked out twice on actions I’ve requested. In one case, the screen saver came back on in the middle of navigating the main menu. In the other case, it ignored a button press to open a book from said same menu. Now, it seems OK. We shall see.
